SHELDON WARNER
Sheldon M. Warner is a visionary Trinidadian contemporary artist, fashion designer, and textile surface designer celebrated for merging the worlds of fine art and functional fashion. As the founder and creative engine behind the lifestyle brand S.M. WARNER art with attitude, he has spent years redefining the Caribbean aesthetic. His philosophy centers on the creation of “wearable art,” transforming premium textiles into moving canvases. Warner’s signature style relies on flowing, sophisticated silhouettes, meticulously hand-painted surfaces, and a vibrant color palette that captures the energy, warmth, and tropical allure of Trinidad and Tobago.
Beyond personal apparel, Warner’s expansive creative practice bridges multiple disciplines, seamlessly extending into home decor and theatrical design. His fine art portfolio features striking, high-energy acrylic paintings on canvas, while his hand-painted glassware, tableware, and custom tea sets bring an artistic consciousness into daily living spaces. Recently, Warner has brought his distinct fine-art sensibility to the world of Trinidad Carnival. Partnering with the renowned Carnival band Kinetic Mas, he transitioned from contemporary fashion to masquerade design, conceptualizing breathtaking, art-driven street sections that allow masqueraders to literally embody the art form.
As an entrepreneur, Warner has successfully scaled his brand through localized business mentorship programs like NEDCO, establishing himself as a fixture at major regional showcases including Port of Spain Fashion Week (POSFW). Striking a balance between structure and untamed creativity, he maintains a professional role at the University of the West Indies while managing his thriving independent studio. Warner continues to push the boundaries of regional design, ensuring that every handcrafted piece—whether a canvas on a gallery wall, a resort-wear garment, or a Carnival costume—serves as a bold testament to Caribbean identity and artistic excellence.
