STEPHEN HAYNES

Born in Trinidad and Tobago and now 62 years of age, Stephen Haynes has carried a lifelong love for artistic expression, particularly drawing and painting. That creative path was unexpectedly paused when, at 19, he entered service life with the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard—a commitment that shaped nearly three decades of his adulthood.

After retiring in 2010, he returned to his first and deepest passion: art. With steady encouragement from loved ones, he began creating and exhibiting again, sharing work that resonated with viewers locally and throughout the region. His paintings have since found homes both across Trinidad and Tobago and abroad, affirming the quiet persistence of his artistic voice.

Working primarily in acrylics—though not limited to them—he explores color, form, and narrative with a renewed sense of purpose. He also enjoys dabbling in graphic presentation, expanding his creative language while continuing to evolve as an artist dedicated to accessible, heartfelt expression.
